February to May 2005
With more funds now available, finally work had started again. During each visit to Umbria we could really see a difference. The external stairs were rebuilt, extension was now complete, inside walls were prepared for plastering and some pointing had been done to the external walls. Even the boiler will have its own little house! All necessary underground pipe work was completed…… We acknowledge the neighbours patience with gifts from Betty’s Tearooms in Harrogate!
March to November 2006
After another break to raise more funds, work restarted to finally complete the work on the house. We were aiming for Christmas 2006. We made decisions about bathroom fittings, floor tiles and the kitchen. Walls were plastered, the floor tiles inside and out were laid and doors and windows were fitted. We finally had keys! Design work continued on the internal glass staircase……..
